Boyle County Schools released its upcoming yearly calendar Thursday night during its regular meeting. The first day of school will be Aug. 12, with the last planned for May 21. 

Holidays and staff days (no school for students) are as follows: 

• Sept. 7, Labor Day
• Oct. 5-9, fall break
• Nov. 2-3, staff day and Election Day 
• Nov. 25-27, Thanksgiving break 
• Dec. 21-25 and 28-31; Jan. 1 and 4-5, Christmas Break/New Year’s Day and staff days 
• Jan. 18, Martin Luther King Day 
• Feb. 15, no school — may be used as an instructional make-up day
• March 15, no school — may be used as an instructional make-up day
• April 5-9, spring break
