Jean Taylor Gover

1941-2020

Jean Taylor Gover, 78, passed away Monday January 13, 2020. Jean was born in Boyle County on January 25, 1941 the oldest of 12 children of the late Clarence and Emma Taylor. She married Robert Earl Gover in 1962.

She and her siblings were raised on a farm and were no strangers to hard work. They moved to Ohio where Jean lived for nearly 40 years. She was a devoted mother who worked hard to instill proper morals and principals in her children. Jean worked for 25 years and retired from the Huffy Corporation in Celina, Ohio. In 2005 she returned to Kentucky to be closer to her mother and siblings. The last few years of her life were spent living in Louisiana with her three sons. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten and her family is comforted knowing that she is in the presence of her Lord.

Those left to cherish Jean’s memory are her children, Pamela and Dan Langenkamp, Keith and Helaine Gover, Robert and Dawn Gover, David Gover, siblings, Calvin and Caroline Taylor, Marilyn Tharp, Danny Taylor, Deborah and Mike McCowan, Cynthia Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Justin and Ashley Smith, Kendra Flint, Rachel Gover, Eann Gover, Landon Hudson, Lillian Gover, Courtney Wilks, Dalton Wilks, and 6 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Dorothy Mattingly, Brenda Young, Phillip Taylor, Dinah Jones, Kerby Taylor, Theresa Lake, children, Rachel Gover, Jeffrey Gover, nephew Derek Tharp and great-nephew Justin Young.

A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday January 25, 2020 at Russell Cemetery in Boyle County. Local arrangements are under the direction of Walden Funeral Home.
