Pets of the Week, Jan. 29, 2020

Our featured pets for this week are Shirley and Thor.
Shirley is a gorgeous 3-year-old dilute tortoiseshell cat. Her coloring has a gray base with marbling of tan and orange in her coat and with a splash of white on the front of her neck. Shirley is quite the beauty queen. This pretty girl was brought to the humane society because her owner could no longer keep her. Shirley is a quiet kitty that minds her own business and gets along with the other cats. Shirley has been spayed and had her vet work brought up to date. If you are looking for a low maintenance sweetheart of a kitty to add to your home, put Shirley at the top of your list.
Thor is a good-looking 1-year-old chocolate lab mix. He was left abandoned in a rental apartment and luckily the landlord alerted animal control. Thor was a little scared at first entering the humane society, but he has made a big turn around with a short adjustment period and some TLC. Thor is now a happy boy with a wagging tail. He does well on leash and playing with other dogs. Thor is a smart fellow and will thrive with an owner who will continue his training and include him in family activities. If you choose Thor for adoption the reward will be a handsome and loyal forever friend.
This Saturday is our monthly DBCHS obedience class. The class is held at 12:30 p.m. inside the service department at the Stuart Powell Ford Dealership on the 127 Danville Bypass. The class is free for those who have adopted from a shelter or rescue. Others are welcome to attend for a small donation to the humane society. If you would like to attend, please pre-register for the class by emailing email@example.com or you may call the humane society at (859) 238-1117. Space is limited so please sign up by Friday at noon. We’d like to give a BIG thank you to our wonderful friends at Stuart Powell Ford for donating this indoor space for our class each month!
Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. Call our Happy Paws Clinic today at (859) 691-1137 for an appointment. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
