Saying goodbye to Pflug and Scott

Danville Fire Chief Ken Pflug and City Manager Ron Scott shared the spotlight at their retirement reception Thursday evening at the Arts Center of the Bluegrass.
Dozens of city and county officials, along with city and county employees and families of the retiring men, were on hand to take photos, laugh, tell stories and say their goodbyes.
A sea of blue- and aqua-colored cupcakes swirled around a table, giving the impression of an ocean surrounding a pier and lighthouse, made with cupcakes in recognition of Scott’s love of sailing. He was also presented with a large model sailing ship.
And firefighters dressed in crisp uniform shirts wearing bow ties surrounded Pflug when they presented him with a custom, hand-made wall hanging that displayed his firefighter hat, badges and and his axe, in honor of his 27 years with the department.
