Dillard Michael Lay

1928-2020

Dillard Michael Lay, 91, of Junction City passed away on February 19, 2020. Born December 7, 1928, he was the son of the late Lewis and Bertha Gilreath Lay. Mike retired from Moorman’s Feed after 33 years. He was owner of Lay’s Orchard and loved to raise blackberries, grapes, and apples. As a young man, he played music on the Ralph and Roy Show on WHIR. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Eloise “Crickette” Souleyrette Lay and two brothers, Clemon and Mitchell.

Survivors include his two daughters, Doris “Mickey” (Tommy) McGirr of Danville and Marjorie “Margie” Bowman of OH; five grandchildren: Dutch (Tisha) Bivens of OH, Mykkia (Kile) Cameron of OH, Davonne Elliott (James Price) of Danville; Devanni (John) Pendygraft of IN, and Kristy (Tim) Moore of Lawrenceburg; and eight great grandchildren: Skye, Lukas, Nolan, Madison, Hunter, Dylan, Megan, and Mallory.

Services will be at 11 am, Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home with burial at Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 pm, Sunday. Guestbook at www.wlpruitt.com.
