1950-2020
Shelia Maxine Spillman Alcorn, 69, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was born on March 28, 1950 in Lancaster, KY to the late Sula Ray Dunn and Edwin Spillman.
Shelia was married to Charles Bernard Alcorn for forty plus years and they raised two sons, Tyrone Lamont Spillman and Patrick Bernard Alcorn and a very special foster daughter, Saraeleigh Brook Moore. Shelia worked at Cowdens, American Greeting Card Factory for thirteen years, and retired from Northpoint Training Center after twenty-one plus years. Shelia was a vital part of the Spurlin Funeral Home family for over ten years, where she was dearly loved and helped many families in their time of need. She will be deeply missed.
Shelia leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Charles Bernard Alcorn; two sons, Tyrone Spillman and Patrick Alcorn(Sharon); one sister Ann Leavell; sister from another mother, Arthella Thompson(Joe); two grandsons, Devin Goff and Ian Alcorn; Grand-daughters, Braxton Sowder and Heather Logan; Great-granddaughters, Isabella Goff and Zakayla Penman; two great- grandsons, Taishon Chenault and Shandon Penman; two brothers, Robert Ray and Darrell Spillman; two sister- in-laws, Beverly Brown and Vernia Hawes(James); two brother in laws, James Black and Robert Frye. She was preceded in death by family members, Calvin Dunn, Louie Dunn, Sarona Black, and Yvonne Frye and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, March 2, 2020 at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel.Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
