James Pope Ledford, III

1947-2020

James Pope Ledford, III, husband of Anne Sharpe Ledford, of Danville, died Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore. Born May 3, 1947 in Stanford, he was the son of the late James Ledford, Jr. and Margaret Fletcher Wright. He was a retired Agricultural Teacher having taught at Boyle County High School for Twenty-Seven Years. He attended University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University where he earned his B.S., M.S., and Rank I Certificate.

James was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church and had attended Calvary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of Vietnam and was an avid fisherman and UK Wildcat Fan.

Survivors besides his wife include his step-mother Sarah Ledford of Danville; one daughter Jamie (Jacob) Laber of Richmond; three step children, one sister Sharon (David) Perkins of Lawrenceburg, eight grandchildren, one niece, and one nephew also survive.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
