Roger Shirel Whited

1947-2020

Roger Shirel Whited, 72, of Junction City passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020. Born June 1, 1947, he was the son of the late Bennie Shirel and Gracie Lee Whited. 

Roger was a member of Junction City First Baptist Church and of Rocky Ford Masonic Lodge # 765. Roger loved to fish and was an avid UK fan, especially UK basketball. He enjoyed gardening, especially raising tomatoes. 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat Rogers Whited; son, Eddie (Dena) Whited of Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren: Kristen Whited, Whitney Whited, Johnathan Whited, Caitlynn Brianne Montgomery, Dylan Chase Hoskins, and Chelsea Johnson; brother, Freddie Whited of Liberty and niece, Sedita Whited; mother-in-law, Anna Mae (Bill) Julian of Moreland; and brother-in-law, Stephen (Carolyn) Rogers of Hustonville. Roger was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa and brother, Jackie Dale. 

A Private Service will be held at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by Bro. Choe Sergent and Bro. Bill Julian with a private burial at Danville Memorial Gardens. Johnathan Whited and Chase Hoskins will help serve as pallbearers. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Junction City First Baptist Church. A guestbook is available at www.wlpruitt.com.
