Gas prices in Boyle County below state, national average

Boyle County residents are paying less at the pump on average than many across the state, according to average gas prices published by the Oil Price Information Service.
As of Monday afternoon, the average price of gas in Boyle County was around $1.34/gallon. That falls well below the state average of $1.46/gallon.
The average price of gas in Boyle County is also lower than many neighboring counties, outside of Casey County where the average gas price is $1.33/gallon.
Although the average price in Boyle County is listed at $1.34/gallon, many stations locally can be seen selling gas as low as $1.26/gallon.
The price of gas in Kentucky is the fifth-cheapest across the country and below the national average of $1.81/gallon, the lowest prices in Kentucky in more than a decade.
With the COVID-19 outbreak, drivers have witnessed a continual decrease in fuel prices as leisure travel has been shut down and many no longer have work commutes as part of social distancing guidelines and stay-at-home orders.
The price of gas, according to experts, is expected to continue to decrease, but at a slower rate than it has over the past couple weeks.
