Patrons wanting to check out new materials will need to contact the library on those days between 10 a.,. – 2 p.m. either by phone: (859) 238-7323 or by email: library@boylepublib.org. Most items will be available for same-day pickup between 2 – 5 p.m.

Initially patrons will be able to borrow up to 10 items per household per week. Household requests should be made on one library card. For the safety of staff and patrons, curbside pickup will be a no-contact service.

Requested materials will be bagged and placed on a table outside the building for patrons to pick up at an arranged time. Depending on the number of order requests being processed, patrons may receive additional pickup instructions from staff when the order is confirmed.

Patrons may request specific items if available, or they may ask for library recommendations. Patrons can search the library’s collections by accessing the catalog directly via www.boylecatalog.org or through the library’s website BoylePublib.org. All requests will receive a direct follow-up from library staff, so it is important for contact information to be included in the request.

All requests for library materials will need to include the following information:

  • Patron name
  • Library card number
  • Items requested (up to 10) – Specific items (include title and author information) or genre recommendations
  • Name of the person picking up items

To coincide with the resumption of curbside pickup, the outdoor book drop located at the library will now be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for patrons to return any borrowed materials. (Please note, next week the book drop will be closed on Memorial Day.) At this time, returns will only be accepted via the book drop. All returned materials will be quarantined for 72 hours and will be handled according to CDC guidelines before being checked in.

No late fees are currently being assessed, however patrons are encouraged to return any overdue materials as soon as they are able so the items can be processed and put back into circulation.

In addition to curbside service, the library offers numerous online resources including a robust digital library collection which the library encourages its patrons to continue to utilize. Anyone with questions about current library services or needing help accessing online resources may contact the library Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. via phone at (859) 238-7323, via email at library@boylepublib.org, or via Facebook Messenger at facebook.com/boylepublib. Patrons can also reach specific departments through the library’s website by using the dropdown menu available on boylepublib.org/contact-us.
