Danville men face several drug charges following separate traffic stops

Two Danville men were arrested late Thursday following two separate and unrelated traffic stops.
According to the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, K9 Deputy Tanner Abbott and Deputy Braydon Hopper made a traffic stop on Lexington Avenue at 9:44 p.m. Thursday.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and deputies found a white powdery substance believed to be fentanyl/heroin, a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, and approximately $400 in cash.
Walter Roberts of Danville was arrested and transported to the Boyle County Detention Center.
Roberts was charged with the following:
⁃ Possession heroin
⁃ Trafficking methamphetamine
⁃ Drug paraphernalia
⁃ No license
⁃ Operating on suspended license
Just before midnight Thursday, deputies Abbott and Hopper conducted another traffic stop, this one on North 4th Street in Danville.
After further investigation a search of the vehicle was conducted. The deputies found a clear bag, a folded receipt and a folded dollar bill containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine. Two clear bags containing marijuana and a set of digital scales were also found. Austin Godbey of Danville was arrested and transported to the Boyle County Detention Center.
Godbey was charged with the following:
⁃ Trafficking marijuana
⁃ Trafficking methamphetamine
⁃ Drug paraphernalia
⁃ No license
⁃ Failure to or improper signal
