Marvin “Marty” S. Warren, Sr.

1933-2020

Marvin “Marty” S. Warren, Sr., 87, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020. He was the husband of the late Christine Burger Warren who passed in 2015. Marty was born May 28, 1933 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late William and Elsie Warren Kimbley.

Marty was a member of the First Church of God in Danville and retired from Corning/Phillips Glass after 40 years. He was a graduate of the old Danville High School and never knew a stranger, had a great sense of humor, enjoyed sports and fishing and hunting and loved to entertain his grandchildren with animal sounds.

Survivors include four children, Marvin S. Warren, Jr., Linda (James) Key, Brenda (Richard) Smith, Teresa (Jamie Mino) Knight, eight grandchildren, Melinda Kay Goodpaster, Walter Samuel Warren, Crystal Ann Deshazer, Wendell Dale Campbell, Jr., Steven Michael Campbell, Melanie Dawn Campbell, Susan Crock, Casey Lynn Smith, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Marty also had two sisters.

The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 4, 2020 at First Church of God Harrodsburg Road with Bro. Kevin Cummins officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Perryville. Visitation will be from 5 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 3, 2020 at the First Church of God.

Marty’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.
