Boyle County has 16 new cases of COVID-19, including one which is currently hospitalized.
That’s according to a post on the Boyle County Health Department’s Facebook page shortly after 3 p.m. Friday.
The county has had a total of 185 cases, and that number includes two people who are retests from earlier, according to the post, as well as two from long-term care facilities, one contact of a previous case in the same home, three from the same business, and two from a previous case involving a gathering.
The post went on to explain that Friday brought eight new cases, while the other eight were split between the previous three days (Aug. 4-6). The health department’s updates on the local COVID situation are typically made each Tuesday and Friday.
Boyle County Health Department Director Brent Blevins added in the post, “COVID impacts everyone in this community- no race, socio-economic status group, faith, political affiliation, etc. has been spared. Keep all in mind as we continue through this journey and find a way to help your neighbor. Some days it may seem that we will never get to a better place with this. However, I assure you We Are and We Will!”
