Woman killed in early morning camper fire has been identified
A woman was found dead inside a camper that was destroyed by fire while parked at the Pioneer Playhouse Campground early morning on Aug. 23 has been identified as Malinda Gowins, 39, of Boyle County.
The body was positively identified this past Friday from dental records, according to Boyle County Coroner Mike Wilder. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Danville Police and Fire departments and Kentucky State Police arson investigator. Her cause and manner of death is pending results of the autopsy and toxicology testing, Wilder said.
Gowins’ body was found inside the camper after Danville firefighters extinguished the blaze about 4:30 a.m., according to Danville Police.
