Danville has been recognized by MSN’s LoveExploring website as being Kentucky’s “Most Beautiful College Town.”

Back in March, before the COVID-19 pandemic caused spring, summer and fall events to be cancelled, the site listed what it thought were the”Most Beautiful College Towns In All 50 States and Washington D.C. It stated that, “Danville is a quaint little city with a close-knit community, charming neighborhoods to explore and a busy calendar of local events. Centre College was founded here in 1819 and is known for its ranking in liberal arts. Off-campus, residents have gone to great lengths to preserve the buildings in historic downtown, where bakeries, coffee houses and snug delis pop up all the time.”

Heart of Danville Board Chair Ann Yager McCrosky said she thought the writer, “Did a great job of capturing Danville.”

She said, “We have this gorgeous Main Street, but it’s really about the people who live here. It’s the people here who make it so amazing.”

McCrosky said many people who grew up in Danville may tend to take the downtown’s character and its friendly residents for granted, but, “By golly, we are a charming little place.”
