This boil water advisory was lifted on Jan. 9.
The evening of Jan. 8 the city of Danville announced in a Facebook post that a boil water advisory has been issued for East Main Street and Hill N Dale to 1008 Regency Road due to a main break.
No contamination has currently been confirmed, according to the post. However, the city recommends that all water be brought to a rolling boil, allowed to boil for three minutes and let cool before using. Another alternative is using bottled water.
Boiled or bottled water should be used “for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice,” according to the post. Boiling is recommended because it kills bacteria and other organisms that could be in the water.
