Boyle County Schools

News release

After reviewing the county incidence rate with the Boyle County Health Department, Boyle County Schools will pivot away from the A/B Hybrid on Monday, March 1 and allow all students who are designated as “in-person learners” to attend school five days a week. We will continue to follow the Governor’s and KDE’s Guidance on Safety Expectations and Best Practices for Kentucky Schools. Virtual and self-paced students will continue to learn as they have this entire semester.

Because we lost several instructional days during the ice and snow storms, there are important changes to the school year calendar. March 15 will now be an instructional day. The last day of school for students will be May 26, and the last day for staff will be May 28. There is no change to spring break. All calendar changes are pending board approval.

High school families, please note: The ACT will be administered to ALL HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS (In-Person, Virtual and Self-Paced) on March 9. All high school students in grades 9, 10 and 12 will learn virtually that day to be able to allow us to spread out and administer the ACT to all juniors while following KDE’s guidance. More information will be coming from BCHS.

In regard to food service, beginning March 1, in-person students will be able to eat breakfast and lunch at school each day, thus eliminating their ability to participate in any bulk meal kit or supplemental bulk meal kit pickup. The Tuesday night pickup events will be reserved for virtual and self-paced students and non-school-aged children. There will be no more meal delivery.

Please stay tuned for more details coming from your child’s school.
