Dear Editor,
As the director of the Great American Brass Band Festival, I would like to sincerely express my gratitude to our 2021 sponsors, both financially and in-kind, key volunteer crew, and youth workers, downtown businesses, and patrons for their support for the 2021 festival. Thank you all for your hard work and for sticking with us as we navigated COVID over the last year and a half, as well as the changes we had to make for this year’s festival.
I would like to say a huge thank you to the city of Danville staff, public works, police department, and fire department for their willingness to go above and beyond to make the festival happen in downtown Danville, as well as dealing with the many trials and tribulations, extra hours, and sweat equity that it took to pull off our 31st year.
Thank you to the Boyle County Fiscal Court for assistance with courthouse parking, and especially to the Boyle County Public Waste Department for their help with keeping downtown clean during and after the event.
This festival is made possible by the heart and soul of our community and everyone coming together to make something wonderful happen. It is amazing to see everyone work together towards a common goal, no matter their personal differences. It was a fantastic, albeit often rainy and humid weekend, but I believe we delivered a successful celebration for our community and visitors alike as we begin to reclaim some post-COVID normalcy.
Thank you all again and I look forward to seeing everyone in June 2022!
