Beam setting complete on Chaplin River bridge

News release
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that this advisory serves as an update for the bridge project in Perryville. Operations continue for the new bridge over the Chaplin River on US 68/150. The project began Monday, June 7, and has an anticipated completion date of Thursday, October 14.
Beam setting was completed today. Six new beams were delivered by six separate trucks. Each 33-foot beam was unloaded and installed on the bridge within one day.
Tuesday, July 6 – as of 3:15 p.m.
US 68/150
- the route is now fully open to traffic
- six beams were unloaded and set for the new Chaplin River Bridge
Wide load trucks should continue to utilize the posted alternate detours (signage in place) to avoid the construction site with a reduced lane width.
All work, and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies, and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
