Martha Rae Cox Curd Durham

1923 – 2021

Martha Rae Cox Curd Durham, 97, died July 25, 2021. Born December 18, 1923 in Mercer County, daughter of the late James Curd(William Cox) and Mattie Alma Gibson Curd. Martha graduated from Danville High School in 1942. She, as a child, attended Lexington Avenue Baptist Church. Martha was a member of, Threads of Love, a program that knitted blankets for preemie babies. She was also a member of Norfolk- Southern Ladies Club. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, George Robert Durham, Grandson David Scott Durham and Grandson Chad Durham.

She is survived by her three sons, David Durham(Kim) of Naples, FL, Joe (Joyce)Durham of Trussville, Al, and Bob (Nancy) Durham of Trenton, FL; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, August 2, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Rev. Basil Hall will officiate the service. Burial will be at Bellevue Cemetery. The online guestbook and Hugs from Home are available at www.stithcares.com
