Marcia Kay Knight

1956 – 2021

Marcia Kay Knight, 65, passed away in the early morning of Monday, July 26, 2021. Marcia was born to the late Warren and Jo Anne (Merrick) Bugg in Lexington, Kentucky on February 9, 1956. Marcia wed Timothy Knight June 30, 1995 and together, they celebrated 26 years of marriage. Marcia spent 32+ years on the contract at Bluegrass Station working for Serv-Air, E-Systems, Raytheon, L-3 Communications and lastly Lockheed Martin in a variety of positions before retiring this past June. Marcia took great pride in knowing her work supported the men and women of the military. Marcia loved her stuffed animals, her pets (Afghan hound and Sam) and the horse, all breeds, shapes, sizes and colors. Junior League horse show in Lexington and the World Championship Horse Show at the Kentucky State Fair were annual trips. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Tim; stepbrother, David (Joan) Bugg; Cousins Brenda, Cathy, Sarah, Bernice, Barbara, Nancy, Lynn, Bobby, Billy, Debbie. In addition to her parents, Marcia was preceded in death by her stepmother, Anne Spoonamore. Visitation for Marcia will be held Sunday, August 1st 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Milward-Southland located at 391 Southland Drive with funeral service Monday, August 2nd at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment in Lexington Cemetery will follow. Donations can be made to the Saddlebred Horse Museum at the Kentucky Horse Park or The Humane Society.
