Driver under influence of alcohol hits utility pole in Perryville

A driver under the influence of alcohol hit a utility pole in Perryville yesterday afternoon, causing a power outage for some residents.
Perryville Police Department Chief Parker Hatter reports that yesterday at approximately 4:05 p.m., PPD responded to a vehicle accident on South Buell Street.
Officer Nick Paton was conducting patrol when he noticed the accident in front of him. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole, which caused power outage for much of the residents on South Buell.
After on scene investigation, it was discovered that the driver of the vehicle, Ariel Keller, had been drinking alcoholic beverages. Keller was arrested and transported to EMRMC for observation and then taken to Boyle County Detention Center.
Charges according to the BCDC website:
• First-degree operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol
• Third-degree criminal mischief
• Improper registration plate
According to the BCDC website, Keller was also released yesterday.
