Citizens Police Academy opens next class

The Danville Police Department will be hosting its Citizens Police Academy Sept. 7 through Nov. 9. Classes will be held every Tuesday night from 6-8 p.m.

This is a unique learning opportunity that will provide an up-close look at the Danville Police Department. The curriculum will be interactive and include topics such as department overview, patrol activities, telecommunications, criminal investigations, response to resistance, active shooter, officer training and crime scene processing.

All participants will have the opportunity to complete police related scenarios, traffic stops, defensive tactics and simunitions. The course is free to all Boyle County residents.
