Akin remembers Danville differently than it is today

I was born in Danville in 1955. I have seen this town go from a friendly place, with a lively downtown that had pharmacies, grocery stores, sporting goods, big department stores, and it was great. Unfortunately, now none of the above exist. It is painful to watch the city officials spend money on a desert. If you’re not in the 501c3 or assorted 501c3s you are out of luck. The continual complaining from city workers should stop. Concerned tax payer.
