Nonprofit housing provider dedicates apartment building

DENVER—On Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, Providence Network, a 33-year veteran of supportive housing for the city’s homeless, will dedicate an apartment building located on Champa Street in the Curtis Park neighborhood as a tribute to late Colorado businessman, Warren Jay Gibson.
PN purchased the historic 13-unit building, formerly known as Champa House, from the Denver Rescue Mission in 2018. It became the sixth location in PN’s network of transitional and affordable housing communities in Denver.
The dedication ceremony for the Warren Jay Gibson House will be attended by Gibson’s wife, Diane Nordyke Gibson, CEO of Craters & Freighters, LLC and former PN board member.
“My husband, Jay, passionately believed that every person, regardless of their circumstances, has God-given gifts that, when nurtured, can lead to a happy, successful life,” Gibson said. “Jay would have loved the ministry of Providence Network that surrounds people with the acceptance and support of an extended family of peers and mentors.”
The newly christened Gibson House will provide substance-free, affordable apartments to men and women who have previously completed a transitional housing program, as they continue to pursue their sobriety and self-sufficiency goals.
“Providence Network has enjoyed a wonderful partnership with Diane over many years,” stated PN Executive Director, Derek Kuykendall. “It is truly our pleasure to celebrate her friendship as well as the loving memory of her husband, Jay, in this manner, surrounded by staff, friends and board members past and present.”
