Centre hosts ‘150-mile dinner’; next event is set for Oct. 21

Now more than ever, it’s critical for organizations to do well by doing good. Sodexo is committed to doing all it can to advance local sourcing in the communities it serves, along with promoting the economic, social, environmental, and health-related benefits that follow.

Cowan Dining Hall locally sources produce, meats, breads, dairy, and grain from local businesses. The program strives to find opportunities to have a greater community impact through interaction with these local company’s and minimizing waste.

For the purposes of our efforts, “local” is by having been grown or produced within the state that it is being served, or from within a 150-mile radius. This was celebrated Thursday, Sept. 16, with one of the group’s  ‘150-mile dinners.’ The next 150-mile dinner will be on Oct. 21 from at 5-8 p.m.
