She was nominated for the award by a co-worker that said, “I am nominating Rebecca Bates for the Daisy Award for many reasons. Rebecca is a great team player. She frequently and willingly picks up extra shifts when staffing is short. Rebecca frequently takes on the role of House Supervisor even when not scheduled to do so. Recently this was the case when she came in to work and unexpectedly took on the role of house supervisor as well as PCT for the Med/Surg Unit simultaneously. Rebecca handled both roles with grace and proficiency. The following shift, Rebecca willingly agreed to cover a shift in the ED where they were short staffed. Rebecca is very skilled and knowledgeable in both Med/Surg and the Emergency Department. During this time she took on the responsibility of working in the ED while assisting the house supervisor to complete her tasks as well. Rebecca has exhibited leadership qualities and has been a shining role model for all those who work with her.”

Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day.  Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell facilities.
