Another fall Saturday presents another opportunity for the Marching Rebels to show how they have improved during a week’s time.
The Boyle County band traveled this past Saturday to compete in the Taylor County Marching Invitational in Campbellsville.
Boyle competed against some of the toughest competition in Class 3A. Adair and Russell, two perennial state powers, were also invited to compete against eight other bands.
The marching invitational was separated into preliminary and final competitions. In the early afternoon during the preliminary competition, Boyle took home 3rd place and Best Color Guard in Class 3A.
Next up would be the final competition where all classes combine for the championship trophy.
Playing under the lights, Boyle County exceeded even their own expectations throughout an exciting and highly energetic performance. At the final award ceremony, the Rebels placed 4th and won Best Color Guard for the second time that day!
Senior baritone player Kasey Lister was ecstatic about the performance and hopes for good things to come.
“I think we have the chance to go to really big places if we can get the technical stuff under our belts,” Lister said.
The Rebels will compete on Oct. 16 at South Laurel High School.
