Expungement clinic set for Oct. 19

Don’t let your past define your future. Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is partnering with Real Hope Behavioral Health to host an expungement clinic in Danville on Oct. 19. The event will begin at noon at Real Hope Behavioral Health, 975 Hustonville Road, Suite 7, in the Southland Shopping Plaza.
The expungement clinic is open to anyone looking to learn how to clean up criminal charges from their record.
Kentucky allows certain criminal charges to be removed or sealed from a person’s criminal record. Expunging these charges will aid those looking to apply for certain jobs or secure housing and other basic needs that may otherwise be hindered by a felony charge.
At the in-person Oct. 19 clinic, officials will be available to walk you through the process of expunging a charge from your record. Only Kentucky charges are applicable at this time and expungement is limited to one felony.
Prior to the in-person clinic, Goodwill will request your unofficial background records from the Administrative Office of the Court for the purpose of this expungement. A copy of your background will be provided to you when you walk in, so you will be able to go over it with the attorney to determine what is eligible for expungement.
To register for the event, visit goodwillky.org/expungements and select the Danville event. Registration is required for this event to schedule your spot. There is no fee to register, but there may be fees applied during the expungement process. In the event of a cancellation due to COVID-19, a representative from the expungement program will reach out via email to reschedule.
