After an executive session at Thursday’s special called meeting, Boyle County Fiscal Court voted to appoint Darlene Lanham as the county’s next treasurer.   The appointment was unanimous.

Boyle County Judge Executive Howard P. Hunt III said, “Ms. Lanham brings 13 plus years of experience working in county administration and finance and will quickly be up to speed on the complexities of Boyle County’s financial operations. We can’t wait for her to get here.”

“I am looking forward to the challenge and am anxious to join the Boyle County team,” Lanham said. “It’s a good fit for me, and I am honored to be appointed as Boyle County’s next treasurer.”    

Lanham has a certificate of accounting Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Kentucky University.    

Hunt thanked the personnel committee for their time reviewing all of the resumes and conducting interviews.    

“I also must thank our interim treasurer, Jackie Richardson, for all of her work to keep the office operating at the level our constituents expect and deserve,” he said. “We appointed Jackie as the acting treasurer on July 30, and we are grateful for her commitment to keeping our finances in compliance.”
