Boyle cross country finishes the year at state

Last Friday, the Boyle County cross country team ran at the 2A KHSAA State meet at Bourbon County Park in Paris.
Sophomores Nancy Haddad (96th) and Annabelle Tarter (111th) finished the year off with great races. Eight-grade sensation Aubrey White (146th) and junior Cailyn Godsey (166th) continued their great running with one of their best races all season. Sophomore Emery Larson (181st) came in right after, finishing her year off right. Freshman Maggie Powell (203rd) rounded out the girls’ race and officially ended the year for the girls.
The girls’ team placed 23rd overall at state.
Sophomore Max Germann (41st) ran his best state race. Junior Baron Wiley (106th) and senior Austin Rice (116th) finished close by with great times.
Junior Wesley Allaham (165th) and Cannon Bostick (205th) finished their seasons with fantastic races. Senior Alex Lockhart (216th) ran his best race of the season to conclude his running career. Freshman Grayson Sumner (217th) came in right after to conclude the boys’ race.
The boys’ team placed 20th.
Coach John Anderson was proud of how the team finished the season.
“It was great to finish the season off right, our boy’s and girl’s teams ran great, and there were many standout performances,” Anderson said.
Austin Rice, Max Germann, Baron Wiley, Cannon Bostick, and Grayson Sumner will be running at nationals on Nov. 27 in Cary, North Carolina.
