Danville police arrest suspect in hit and run

Danville Police responded to the intersection of Hustonville Road and Baughman Avenue for a non-injury hit and run collision on Thursday at 6:54 p.m.

Officers determined that the driver of a Chevrolet Trailblazer entered the intersection traveling east from Southland Shopping Center to Baughman Avenue.  The Trailblazer was struck by a GMC Acadia that failed to yield the right of way when the operator made a left turn from Baughman Avenue onto Hustonville Road.

The Acadia fled the scene immediately following the collision. The Boyle County Sheriff’s Department helped locate the fleeing vehicle on W. Grubbs Lane in Junction City.

Danville Police determined that the driver, Lucinda Poland, 57, of Junction City was under the influence. Polland was arrested by Danville Police and lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center on the following charges:

  • Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs
  • Leaving the Scene of an Accident
