David Bruce Morris, 95

David Bruce Morris, 95, of Stanford, KY passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Born on September 30, 1926, he was the son of the late David B. and Jennie Walters Morris.
Bruce was a graduate of Stanford High School, Class of 1944, and a member of Stanford Christian Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, where he served in Japan.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Susie Buchanan Morris of Stanford; one daughter, Patsy Winchell (Wes) of Perryville, KY; five grandchildren, Jenny Moody (Bryan) of Richmond, kY, Sara Gilliam of Versailles, KY, Justin Ray (Jenny) of Nicholasville, KY, Chantelle Ralston (Dan) of Lawrenceburg, KY and Bryce Morris (Kylee) of Lynchburg, VA; seven great-grandchildren, Shelby Yeich (Matt) of Nicholasville, Chase Smith and Kyndall Jones of Richmond, KY, Raegan Ray, Avery Ray, Grayson Ray and Lyla Ray of Nicholasville; one great-great-grandson, Bryles Yeich of Nicholasville; one sister, Carolyn Cooper of Stanford; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two friends who became family, George Saufley and Tim Sears, both of Stanford, KY.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Buchanan Morris; parents, David and Jennie Morris; and three sisters, Marjorie Fletcher, Aleene Morris and Helen Rankin.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Johnson and Dr. Jim Baughman officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
