Clark Coyle and Cora Gilbert each won individual events for Boyle, and Coyle was named the outstanding male swimmer of the meet.

Coyle, an eighth-grader, won the boys 50-yard freestyle and finished second in the 100 freestyle. He also teamed with Alex Lockhart, Beau Bostick, and Luke Hamon for a second-place finish in the boys’ 400 freestyle relay.

Gilbert, a senior, was first in the girls’ 100 breaststroke and second in the 200 individual medley.

Hannah Bischoff, Maggie Gnann, Natalie Spencer and Abigail Heath gave Boyle a second-place finish in the girls’ 200 freestyle relay.

Keegyn Wilcher of Danville finished second in the boys’ 1-meter diving competition held last week.

The top two finishers in each event qualify for the state championships, while others may earn at-large qualifying spots on time or on diving scores. The diving competition will be held Saturday in Versailles; swimming events will be contested Feb. 18-19 in Lexington.

Danville finished eighth in the girls’ standings and ninth in the boys’ standings. The Lincoln County girls were 13th; the Garrard County boys were 15th.
