Boyle, Danville wrestlers compete at state

Micah Thompson of Boyle County finished sixth Saturday in the 106-pound weight class in the final rounds of the KHSAA State Wrestling Championships in Winchester.
Thompson, an eighth-grader, lost his first match Friday at George Rogers Clark but bounced back to win three straight consolation-round matches, one of them in overtime.
He lost a consolation semifinal, then lost to Trent Cano of Great Crossing on a fall in the fifth-place match.
Jerome Johnson of Danville and Ethan Montgomery of Boyle each went 1-2 at 157 pounds, with Johnson winning a consolation-round match in overtime after losing his first-round match.
Jackson Burger of Boyle went 0-2 at 157.
