The Boyle County Courthouse has 12 additional parking spots for the public. Boyle County Judge Executive Howard Hunt and County Administrator Julie Wagner explains, “We looked at our parking assignments and realized there were a lot of unassigned spots throughout our parking lot. By reassigning spaces, we were able to allocate 12 additional parking spaces for the public. We have gone from nine public parking spaces to 21, all of which are located near the public entrance.”
Six spots in the employee lot are available for magistrates, auditors, staff members from other buildings and contractors who visit the building, therefore allowing for 21 spaces to be set aside for our public guests. Wayfinding signage has been ordered. Wagner said, “I shared suggested changes with each department head as I developed the plan and again after I finalized the map, each department, in turn, issued staff assigned spots.”
“While with anything new, there is an adjustment period, the new parking allocation does not mingle public and private parking. The public has their designated spaces, marked VISITOR. Should all of these spaces be taken, the public may park in the lot adjacent to the courthouse driveway off of Fourth Street,” said Judge Hunt.
