Library to host spring cleaning workshop

The Boyle County Public Library offers numerous free activities, special events, and services for the community year-round. Interactive activities often include storytimes, author visits, crafting, and book clubs. As spring turns into summer, the library staff is winding down their regularly scheduled youth events to prepare for an activity-packed, all-ages summer reading program, which begins on June 1st. Here is a closer look at some of the upcoming events at the library:

Game On!

Teens are invited to play video games at the library on Friday, April 29 from 4:00-5:20 PM. Battle with friends in Super Smash Bros or race in Mario Kart 8. This event will be held on 5th Level of the library. (Ages 13-18)

Teen D&D

On Saturday, April 30 from 2:00-4:00 PM teens can play what some call the greatest role-playing game of all time. At this event, players will venture through campaigns that will test their ability to work together and conquer foes in this tabletop adventure. Registration is required to play. Spring Cleaning

If you are still clearing out last year’s junk and just want to get organized, stop by the library on Saturday, April 30 from 2:30-4:00 PM to learn some de-cluttering skills. This spring cleaning presentation will inspire you to tidy up your space. This event is offered in partnership with Boyle County Cooperative Extension. (Ages 18+)

Crafters Who Care

On Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 PM, join us in knitting and crocheting items for those in need. This knitting and crochet group welcomes current and new members to weekly crafting meetups at the library. Some materials provided. Beginners are welcome. This event will be held in the Reading Room. (Ages 13+)

Adult D&D

Dungeons & Dragons is often called the greatest role-playing game of all time. The library offers a D&D club for adults that meets at the library on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Adults can join a session on Sunday, May 8 at noon or 4:30 PM. No experience is necessary, but registration is required. To register, sign up at the library or email library@boylepublib.org. (Ages 18+)
