Arts Commission holding silent auction fundraiser May 20

Creativity comes in all forms. You can admire a museum full of priceless works of art. Maybe classic movies are your thing. Or, you get lost in a book of poetry or a recording of a Beethoven Symphony.
The Arts Commission has a few different ideas to inspire, not one of which can be replicated. Years from now you will have a memory and a story to tell about your very own adventure, chosen just by you, and shared with some of your family and friends.
On May 20 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Clemens Caldwell House on N. Maple Avenue, the Arts Commission is sponsoring a fundraiser to support expanded arts programs bringing creative experiences to children and their families. In a new program, this summer the Arts Commission is presenting a series of five free concerts in different neighborhoods of our community.
To fund these programs and others the Arts Commission has created a fun, casual event, “Choose your own adventure.”
Ticket holders can bid on items which are unique and, most importantly, meant to be shared. While bidding, visit with friends, enjoy light refreshments, stroll around the historic home, and listen to live music provided by Kasey and Melissa Webb.
Perhaps you would like to take a plane ride over Danville with Jake Bell, or participate in the Run for the Brass. You might want to be a guest host on the Joe Mathis radio show, or stay at the historic Clemens Caldwell House. There are tickets to theater performances and tours and tastings at a distillery and a coffee roastery. You can be inspired by local artists Brandon Long or Kasey Webb as they take you behind the scenes of their creative process. How about a birdwatching stroll with Mark and Joni Morgan, or a creek walk with Preston Miles to learn about our natural heritage?
The list goes on, and on.
But you will need a ticket to bid in the silent auction! Tickets are $20.00 and include a beverage. They are available by contacting the Arts Commission at arts@historicdanvilleky.com. Tickets are also available at the door the night of the event. Bring a friend and enjoy the adventure of supporting arts experiences for all our community.
