The Kentucky Association of Counties (KACo) President Phil Sammons presented two $8,000 scholarships to two local graduating high school students during the Boyle County Fiscal Court meeting on May 31.
Scholarships were awarded on their academic excellence and will be for their respective universities.
Sammons, who is also a county magistrate, first presented a check to Abigayle Godbey. Godbey will be enrolling at Eastern Kentucky University in the fall to study Special Education. The future EKU student graduated from Boyle County High School in May.
Anajah Perrin, a graduate of Danville High School, was next to receive her scholarship from Sammons. In the fall, Perrin will be enrolled at the University of Kentucky, where she will study Elementary Education.
Both students along with their families were extremely grateful for the scholarships and expressed their gratitude to everyone involved in making it happen.
