The couple married on August 21, 1971, and moved to Danville, Kentucky in August 1973, at which time Marcy began teaching Spanish and English at Danville High School, which she did for 28 years, also earning a Master’s in Education from the University of Kentucky later in the
1970s. During summer breaks in the 1980s and ’90s, Marcy and Don spent many happy vacations with family at their cabin in Palmer Rapids, Ontario, Canada. Don taught at Centre College.
