A boil water advisory was issued for everything east of The Danville Water Treatment Plant (387 E. Lexington Ave.), all the way to the Garrard County Line. UPDATE: This advisory has been lifted.
A 6″ cast iron line blew out at the Intersection of 3rd St. and Old Shakertown Rd. A 6″ clamp was placed on the damaged section of the 6″ cast iron line. 500 customers are affected.
A separate boil water advisory was issued for all of Old Shakertown Rd up to the intersection of Mark Ave (Does not include Mark Ave.) for a break in 6″ cast iron line. 50 customers are affected.
Although NO CONTAMINATION HAS BEEN CONFIRMED we recommend: Bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for three (3) minutes, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and foodpreparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
