On Tuesday Oct. 18 , the Danville Police Department completed its final class of the 2022 Citizens Academy.
Danville Police hosted fifteen citizens for the 7-week class. The intent of the citizens academy is to build relationships and foster community support, while offering answers to those curious about police procedures and duties.
Topics included traffic enforcement and stops, investigations, department policy/procedure, defensive tactics, response to resistance, active shooter, K-9, narcotics, patrol, and criminal law.
The participants were able to complete scenario-based training that included traffic stops with simunition weapons, building clearing, along with taser and baton training.
