Election Results announced (unofficial totals)

These are the unofficial election results for Boyle County. Results are not final until certified by the state.
Democrat Trille Bottom has won the race for judge-executive, beating out Republican incumbent Howard Hunt by less than 300 votes.
The first African American Mayor of Danville will be James “JH” Atkins, who beat challenger James Hunn by 757 votes.
There will be three new magistrates in office. Republican Paula Bodner won over Democrat Tina Lynn for district 2. Republican Barry Harmon beat incumbent Phil Sammons by a close margin for district 3. District 6 was another close margin, with Republican Steve Sleeper beating incumbent John Caywood. Republicans have taken five of the six magistrate seats, with Jamey Gay being the only Democrat.
The Danville city commission welcomes back two of the same members, Kevin Caudill and Jennie Hollon. They will be joined by one brand new member, Donna Peek; and a member who previously served on the commission, Rick Serres.
Voter turnout was 44.6%.
