Our featured pets this week are Gus, a newbie on the adoption floor, and Chunk, a long-stay staff favorite. We’d love to get these turkeys into a home before Thanksgiving; read on to find out if one is right for you!

Gus is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma – we have no idea what breeds he’s mixed with – do you? His black coat is medium-length with some curls and waves, and his eyes are friendly and playful. One thing we know for sure is that this one-year-old guy is a hoot!

Gus is a high-energy pup who lives for playing and romping. He bows down on his front legs before jumping and bouncing around the yard. He’ll entertain himself with a toy by tossing it in the air.

Gus will sit, gently take a treat, and stay still to get some good scratches and pets. But then he springs up to do the zoomies all over again. He did well in playgroups and enjoyed getting his energy out by running with his doggy pals (especially Chunk!).

Chunk is a four-year-old mixed-breed dog who is true to his name: there is a lot of him to love! His big head rests on a tank of a body with a nub of a tail, and his entire back end wiggles when he’s happy.

At 68 pounds, this sweet four-year-old is a lap dog at heart and gets as close as possible to you for snuggles and kisses. Chunk is a real fan of butt scratches, treats, and chilling in the grass.

Chunk also likes to move that big frame during playgroups, chasing other upbeat pups (like his buddy Gus) until they crash from exhaustion! If you’re looking for a block-headed hunk of love to bring some laid-back fun into your life, Chunk might be the right guy for you!

Chunk and Gus are fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go home.
