Mary Jane Dixon Knox, 91, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022. She was born June 25, 1931 in Hodgenville, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William Everett and Mary Ethel Hill Dixon. She was preceded in death by her husband William Woodford Knox who passed in 2005.
Mrs. Knox was an active member, and longtime Sunday School teacher at Ninth & O Baptist church in Louisville for more than 30 years. She was a member of Perryville Baptist church since 2004. Mrs. Knox’s faith and love of family was what meant most to her. She loved cooking for family and friends, and loved UK basketball.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Knox Jones (James), Kathryn Elliott (Dwayne), two grandchildren, William Blake Jones (Lauren), Olivia Lynn Elliott, and two great-grandchildren, Sadie and Brooks Jones.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Knox was preceded in death by three siblings, David Edwin Dixon, Kenneth Dixon, and Elizabeth Joyce Dixon.
Visitation for Mrs. Knox will be 12:00 p.m., until the time of service, Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Walden Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday at Walden Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Hackworth and Duane Dunagan officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Perryville.
Serving as Pallbearers will be James Jones, Blake Jones, Warren Jones, Dwayne Elliott, Duane Dunagan and Dwight Vonlinger.
