NEWS RELEASE

Nearly six years have gone by since Danville native Joshua Tomlin left his hometown, partially in pursuit of a career in Christian music. Now, he’s returning home to host a free concert event, with the intention of it being about more than just the music.

“I’ve been travelling across the nation with my bandmates in Cumberland Thunder,” says Tomlin. “The band is taking some time off during the first half of 2023, but there is still music that I want to get out there, so I’ve been working with some talented friends of mine to make this special concert event a reality.”

Additionally, Tomlin is using this event to raise funds for a ministry that is close to his heart. “We’ll be taking up a love offering that night for Imparting Wisdom Christian Academy,” says Tomlin, in reference to the school that his parents founded in 2021 just a few miles down the road in Hustonville. “IWCA has a clear mission of providing children in our community with a quality, Christ-centered education, and I want to support that in any way I can.” The funds raised will go to provide scholarships and school supplies for students.

The event will be taking place at 6 pm on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Danville First Church of God, located at 3220 Harrodsburg Road. Those attending this free event are told to come expecting a night of music, worship, encouragement, and of course a few laughs.

Local favorite Tim Readnour will also be opening the night with a special acoustic set before Tomlin and his band take the stage.
