Danville Police on March 1 acted on information that an individual with active warrants was inside the Super 8 Motel.

Police were on the lookout for Jeffery A. Alcorn, 40, of Danville, who had five active warrants for his arrest. As an officer approached the second floor of the hotel he heard a door slam and what sounded like an altercation occurring inside a room. Upon arriving at the room, the door opened and the officer observed Alcorn being pushed from the room by another male subject. The officer attempted to apprehend Alcorn and a brief struggle ensued before Alcorn was subdued.

A search of Alcorn yielded a loaded Taurus G2c 9mm pistol, two baggies of suspected crystal methamphetamine, and marijuana.
