Bobby Gene Tucker, 88, died Sunday March 19th, 2023, at University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Medical Center. He was born May 22, 1934 in Fayette County, KY to the late Eugene Cleveland and Ruth Hamm Tucker. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 66 years, Emma Catherine Tucker, and four sisters; Marjorie Price Tucker, Geneva Pruitt, Jane Pruitt and Patsy Barker.
Bobby is survived by his three daughters, Emma Jean (Steve) Tamme, Bobbie Gail (Damon) Stewart, both of Danville, and Linda (Edward) Ouellette, Birmingham, Alabama; nine grandchildren, John Stephen (Tammy) Tamme, Adam Tucker (Kelly) Tamme, Grant Michael (Lindsay) Tamme, Connor Lee Ouellette, Logan Riley Ouellette, Hagen Edward Ouellette, Taylor Catherine Stewart, Cole Daron Stewart, and Leah Tucker Stewart; six great grandchildren, Tucker Tamme, Owen Tamme, Hannah Tamme, Rhylan Johnson-Tamme, Collins Tamme and Jess Tamme; two sisters-in-laws, Mary Lou Conder, Owensboro, and Jean Conder, Shelbyville.
Bobby retired following 30 years as a Distributor for Lance Inc.
Bobby was a lifelong supporter of Boyle County schools where for over fifty years he kept the Boys Basketball score book and ran the clock for the football team. He also was involved with Boyle Co. Marching Band for over 30 years, filling many different roles.
He and his wife Emma were inducted in the Boyle County Hall of Fame for both Basketball and Football. He was the recipient of Rebel for Life Award and Big Apple Award from the Chamber of Commerce. He was also inducted to the 12th Region Basketball Hall of Fame. Bobby was one of the original members of the Boyle County Quarterback Club and on the first Danville-Boyle County Recreation Board.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 24th, 2023 at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church with Damon Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
