West T Hill Community Theater is showing “Plaza Suite” by Neil Simon from March 24 to 26 and March 31 to April 2. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. with a Sunday 3 p.m. matinee.

The show is a comedy that takes place in New York City’s Plaza Hotel. In three acts, the show follows three couples with various levels of romance, good and bad.

According to West T Hill’s website, “We zero in on a not-so-blissfully married couple trying to celebrate their anniversary, a suburban housewife and her old flame (who just happens to be a Hollywood producer), and a mother and father nervous about the upcoming nuptials of their daughter who suddenly refuses to leave the suite’s bathroom.”

Show Director Chuck Taylor said that West T Hill chose more comedy shows than usual in their schedule this year, and that it was a deliberate decision.

“Life can be so heavy on its own that it’s nice to be able to escape by enjoying a show that makes you laugh,” Taylor said.

The play features nine local actors playing easily-relatable characters.

“Neil Simon‘s plays are relatable in that he pulls out the comedy in everyday situations,” Taylor said. “Full of wise cracks and quick-witted humor, audiences will stay engaged and care about the outcome of these characters.”
