Every spring Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill expands it’s  “farmily” with the arrival of new baby animals. This year the Village is celebrating these new  arrivals with special Saturday events in April. These events are designed for families to get  outside, have fun and make memories.

Family Farm Days and Brunch with the Babies will be held on Saturday April 15, 22 and 29. The  Family Farm Days portion of the event runs from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. with the purchase of a  daily admission ticket onsite at the Welcome Center. Guests will meet lambs, kids, chicks,  piglets, calves and many more baby animals. The event will also include activity stations, sheep  shearing, hay wagon rides, a hay bale pyramid, scavenger hunt, pony rides and other surprises.

Guests looking to include food with their experience won’t be disappointed. Tickets for Brunch  with the Babies at The Trustees’ Table restaurant are available. This popular kid-friendly brunch  buffet or continental breakfast includes admission for Family Farm Days. Additional food  options will be available onsite at a grab-and-go breakfast stand, and takeaway sandwiches,  salads, chips and sweets will be on offer at the Post Office Shop.

Easter Egg Hunts are returning to the Village on Saturday, April 8 for kids ages 12 and under.  Egg hunters will search for the golden prize egg while collecting candy along the way. In  addition to the hunt guests will meet baby farm animals, make crafts and take a pony ride.  Food trucks will be on hand and the Shaker Village Bar will be open for adults. Purchase tickets  in advance online for $8-$16, ages two and under can participate for free.

Make your Easter weekend complete by joining us for your Easter Sunday meal at The Trustees’  Table on April 9 from 11:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m. You’ll choose from entrées of Shaved Broadbent Country Ham, Roasted Leg of Lamb with Cumberland Sauce, Salmon Croquettes with Dill Aioli  or Mrs. Kremer’s Fried Chicken Breast. Every entrée includes Shaker Village yeast rolls, pea  salad, sautéed asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes and a selection of homemade desserts. A  children’s menu is also available. Reservations are required and may be made online or by  calling 859.734.1556.

Also, in April, spend time with the newest Shaker farm animals by learning about their bedtime  rituals at Bedtime with the Babies. Guests will gather in the barn from 6-7:00 p.m. with a warm  drink to hear a bedtime story as the animals get ready for bed. Tickets may be purchased online  for $10-$15, and are available on Fridays and Saturdays in April.
